An Excellent A To Z Guide To T In The Park! A Must

The team at T In The Park have put together this wonderful piece which has proved to be a handy guide on who to look out for if you didn't already know. Excitement for this festival is building up very fast so get in there quickly before you miss out. One of the finest festivals i have been to and such a sterling lineup too.

  • Bombay Bicycle Club have sold in excess of 350,000 albums since their debut release (2009) and notched up two Top 10 albums, an Ivor Novello nomination, an NME Award for Best New Band (2010), a sold-out US tour and rave reviews for their third album A Different Kind Of Fix
  • Ben Howard’s Top 10 album Every Kingdom (2011) went gold in the UK and has been rush released in the US due to phenomenal public demand after Howard’s mass hype over his sold out US shows. Big things ahead for Ben in 2012!!

  • Miles Kane was part of The Last Shadow Puppets, but the captivating singer songwriter is a hugely accomplished talent in his own right with his glorious, fuzz-rock, beat-pop earning him legions of fans, including fellow T in the Park artist Noel Gallagher, who sang backing vocals on Kane’s My Fantasy.
  • Maverick Sabre is a singer/songwriter whose success has soared in the past year – he has a Brit Award nomination for Best New Act in his collection and his debut album Lonely Are The Brave went Gold and reached No.2. in the chart in its first week of release
  • The Maccabees are one of the most promising UK talents on the scene with new albumGiven to the Wild reaching No.4 in the UK charts, achieving mass critical acclaim and spawning two hit singles which have dominated the airwaves

  • Nero will provide the big beats and heavy basslines when the London-based dubstep trio take on T in the Park.   • Professor Green secured a double-gold selling album, At Your Inconvenience and massive No.1 single, Read All About It, featuring fellow TITP act Emeli Sandé. This year also saw Green achieve a Brit nomination for ‘Best British Male’, and an NME award for ‘Best Dancefloor Filler’
  • Peter Docherty is back with a 12 song solo album ready to showcase to the world and talk of a new album with The Libertines – there just might be a  lot of surprises in store from Peter Docherty this summer
  • Nicki Minaj is the highest charting solo female rapper in UK Official Albums Charthistory.  Her multi-platinum selling debut album Pink Friday boasts the most charted singles by any female rap album in Billboard history. Nicki became the first artist to have 7 singles on the Billboard HOT 100 chart simultaneously. She won Best Hip Hop Video at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards and two 2011 American Music Awards as well as being nominated for three Grammys.   • Rizzle Kicks instantaneously shook things up in 2011 with their very own nu skool hip hop sound and already boast a No. 1 collaborative single Heart Skips a Beat with T in the Park artist Olly Murs, and their incredibly infectious singles Down with the Trumpets and When I Was Younger, the duo have secured 3 top ten singles from their Top.5 debut album Stereo Typical.  Produced by Fatboy Slim, their smash hit single Mama do the Hump is still stomping all over the airwaves and they’ve clocked up a sold out UK headline tour too!
  • Snow Patrol - Since T in the Park first booked an unknown Snow Patrol in 1999, the band have soared to international stardom and gone on to sell in excess of 11 million albums worldwide, with Eyes Open (2006) being the biggest selling British album in its year of release and being certified 7 x Platinum (Plat =300k sales).   They headline T in the Park on Friday 6th July
  • Swedish House Mafia - AKA Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell – are superstar DJs, producers and a bonafide stadium-filling live act. A massive hit on the festival scene, having just gone down a storm at Coachella with their epic headline set, Swedish House Mafia are set to provide the soundtrack to the summer once again in 2012.

  • The incredible line up of artists at T in the Park is ultra-impressive, but it is YOU, the festival fans that make the bands want to come and play and that makes the atmosphere at T in the Park unbeatable.  The audience is at the heart of T in the Park and the part played by the 85,000 passionate fans per day is the most important part of all
  • Zulu Winter are also capturing the eyes and ears of fans and critics alike and the quintet’s catchy and anthemic indie-dance, atmospheric synth-pop went down a storm at their recent NME Awards show. They are just one of the best breakthrough bands that organisers will proudly present as part of the unmissable T in the Park 2012!
